Manager of Prodest Hotel Demolished By Wike Sentences to Jail with Option of 50,000 Naira Fine

Manager of Prodest Hotel  Demolished By Governor Wike has been convicted and give option of 50,000 naira  fine for violating lockdown order.

A magistrate court in  Port Harcourt, Rivers State has sentence Mr Gogorobari Nadeem and Baridelum Azoroh and asked Me Azoroh to be quarantine for 14 days in Yakubu Gowon Stadium Isolation center.

The magistrate who presided over the case Rita Oguguo delivered her judgement that the accused violated the state Governor executive order .

Governor Wike signed an executive order on opening of hotels in the state.

The judge said that the accused violated paragraph 3 and 4 of the executive order 7.

The counsel to the accused Bar Godwin Awi who lamented that despite the by his client to get his lawyer to defend him, the court still went ahead to convict him and with what happened then it means there’s more underlying things we don’t know.

In line with the fact that constitution is clear concerning issue of right to counsel adequate time, and facility for an accused person standing trial to defend so I do himself so I do not agree with everything that’s transpired today. He said.
