The NCDC director general Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu during the presidential taskforce media briefing on Friday said no state in Nigeria has enough bed space.
While speaking he said about 3,500 bed space for Coronavirus are in the country.
” As at yesterday we tested 2,000 samples and that’s the highest number we have tested in a day in the country and despite the challenges in some part of the country but samples are still being received in our laboratories.
And from the information we have from states , we have only about 3,500 bed space in the country and we have push states to make more bed spaces available and we encourage every private sector partner if you want to support, do so in the state you are living. There is no state in Nigeria, even Lagos and FCT, that has fully fulfilled the bed capacity that they need to respond to this outbreak.
We are currently following 12,000 contacts as everyday there are new cases and everyday there are new contacts.
